I required a post-op cryo therapy belt. I spoke with a lady over the phone regarding a compatible model and price. It was very easy to order and have quick delivery to my home. The price was more reasonable than 3 other providers. Everything worked perfectly with my machine. Results are very quick and my healing has allowed me to be up and walking within the first weeks of surgery on my L hip replacement. I recommend you give them a call.

I was looking for an electric hospital bed for my father, who has limited mobility, and found Vital mobility through positive online reviews and helpful website information. I visited the Vaughan location and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The team was friendly and professional, and Carolina was especially kind and patient, clearly explaining the bed’s features and helping us choose the right option. Delivery and installation were smooth, and my parents are very happy with the bed’s comfort and convenience. I highly recommend Vital mobility and the Vaughan team for hospital beds and other mobility or home-care equipment.

Join a Vital Mobility expert to explore different medical scooter options- from compact and portable models to heavy-duty. Watch the video below:

1. Compact and Portable Models: Ideal for those who need a scooter that is easy to transport. Users can disassembled or fold these lightweight scooters. This in turn, makes them ideal for travel or quick trips around your neighbourhood.
2. Mid-Size Scooters: Offering a balance between portability and stability, mid-size scooters are great for both indoor and outdoor use. They provide a comfortable ride while still being manageable in tight spaces.
3. Heavy-Duty Scooters: These scooters for disabled and elderly individuals are designed for those who require extra support, durability and maximum speed. Heavy-duty scooters can handle rougher terrains and have higher weight capacities. They are perfect for those who enjoy outdoor adventures with their long range or need a more robust option.
Three-Wheel vs. Four-Wheel Scooters: Three-wheel scooters are typically easier to maneuver with a tighter turning radius. This makes them suitable for indoor use. In contrast, four-wheel scooters offer greater stability and are better suited for outdoor environments.

Experience the freedom and independence that an electric scooter can provide with Vital Mobility.
The average cost of a four-wheeler mobility scooter is between $1,800 and $4,000. This will depend on the size and features of the scooter.
At the lower end of that price range you will find travel mobility scooter which you can disassemble for easy transportation. At the higher end you will find mid-size and heavy-duty scooters. These have generous mileage and comfort features like suspension, captain’s seats and more.
Yes, you can come in and test drive a mobility scooter before making a purchase. That is the reason why Vital Mobility offers two Toronto-area stores featuring a curated selection of scooters. Being able to sit on and drive a scooter will help you determine if the vehicle will be right for you.
Here are the 3 main features of a heavy-duty scooter:
1. Weight Capacity: Some Heavy-Duty mobility scooters can accommodate individuals weighing up to 450 lbs (205 kg). This is different from most travel and mid-size scooters which usually feature a weight capacity of 250 lbs (113 kg).
2. Construction: Heavy-Duty scooters are crafted to support a larger passenger weight capacity. They are also built to better handle challenging terrains like cobblestones and outdoors spaces. Sturdier construction means that your mobility scooter will help you navigate the world around you more reliably.
3. Larger Wheels: Heavy Duty scooters feature larger wheels for outdoors use – many of which are pneumatic (air filled) tires. While these tires require more maintenance, they also provide better shock absorption for more comfortable driving.
Coverage for mobility scooters in Canada varies according to the province you live in. In Ontario, for example, the ADP Program (Assistive Devices Program) of Ontario partly covers scooters.
Prospective clients of the program need to be assessed by an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist who is an ADP Prescriber. If eligible in 2025, ADP will cover 75% of $2395 of the value of a mobility scooter. Other provinces have different requirements.
A license is not necessary for driving a mobility scooter in Canada- they are meant to be driven on curbs. When a curb is not available, users can carefully drive them on the side of the road.
In Canada, users are required to ride their scooters on the sidewalk. These low-speed mobility devices are not equipped to be routinely driven on the road. You can also drive them on cobblestones and unfinished paths. Scooters with a higher ground clearance are best for these activities.
Non-disabled people can use mobility scooters – particularly those who are elderly and need help getting around. As we age, traveling extended distances by foot can become challenging.
A scooter is the perfect solution for older adults who want to run errands or replace a car. Many portable options can also be easily fit into the trunk of a car. This makes mobility for elderly individuals convenient and easy.
Whether a 3 or 4-wheel mobility scooter is best for a user depends on their individual needs. 3-wheel scooters are ideal for indoors and outdoors use. A single wheel at the front of the scooter can create a tight turning radius. This makes navigating tight corners and spaces significantly easier.
A 4 wheel scooter is best suited for individuals requiring help with their balance. 4 wheels provide a wider footprint for better stability – especially when it comes to navigating bumpy or more challenging terrains.
You can leave your mobility scooter outside as long as you don’t live in a town or city with extreme weather. If you live in cold weather, it’s best to keep your scooter under a roof, preferably in a temperature-controlled space.
The battery may suffer if the scooter is constantly exposed to cold weather. If it must be stored outside in cold, you may choose a travel scooter. These scooters have lightweight removable batteries that can be stored inside while the scooter stays outside.
No matter what the exterior temperature may be, it is still important to keep the scooter dry. A shed or a large tarp may be enough to keep your scooter safe and functional if stored outdoors.
You can leave your mobility scooter plugged in when not in use because most of these scooters have with smart chargers. This means that when the scooter’s battery is full, the charger will stop working until the battery is empty again. When the scooter is not being used for some time, experts recommend charging it every 7-10 days to keep the batteries healthy.
A well-cared for scooter will last between 2-3 years without the need to replace it. Some tips for keeping well maintained scooter batteries is to keep them dry, away from extreme cold and to charge them once every 7-10 days when not in constant use.
If you’re an Ontario resident needing a scooter for 6 months or longer, the Assistive Devices Program (ADP) may cover 75% of an approved non-folding mobility scooter. Read our ADP funding guide →
